President Jonathan finally visits Borno state North-East Nigeria


In what seem to be a surprise today, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan paid a visit to Borno state North-East Nigeria, which has suffered insurgency by the terror group Boko Haram. President Jonathan amidst tight security arrived Maiduguri with Chief of Defense staff, Air Vice Marshall Alex Badeh and National Security adviser, Sambo Dasuki to meet with the state Governor Kashim Shettima and some stake holders in the state today January 15th. He also met with the men and troops of the 7th Division Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, Borno state.

Boko Haram has killed over 13, 000 Nigerians since 2009 and has put many towns and villages under siege in Northeast Nigeria.
