Oscar de la Renta dies at 82

The well known fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has passed away after a bout with cancer. The designer who came into lime light in the 60's for dressing Jackie Kennedy, was also well known for designs worn by a host of celebrities like Oprah Winfrey,Princess Diana, Hilary Clinton and some A-lister's in the Hollywood industry.

De la Renta most recently, designed Amal Alamuddin's wedding dress for her recent marriage to George Clooney. In his words “I want to make clothes that people will wear, not styles that will make a big splash on the runway,”  The 82 years old also mentioned that “Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.” 

He has really played his part in the fashion world...I remember running into his saying that goes "Be the designer of your own destiny".
