Blast in Yobe State, Nigeria

After a recent near-to-a-halt incessant killings by Boko Haram, another bomb blast has occurred on Monday in the city of Potiskum, Yobe state, North Eastern part of Nigeria. The explosion took place at an Islamic school located near an old market in the city. The School is run by Shiite Muslim group. The suicide bomber targeted a congregation of the group during a procession of an event marking 'Ashura', a day recognised as the tenth day of the first month in the Islamic calendar, which the Shiite sect also use to commemorate the killing of the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.

At the commencement of the procession, the bomber got into their midst and detonated the bomb killing many and injuring scores.

I pray there will one day be an end to these senseless killings..
