Robot running hospital errands in Glasgow

What can be more cool than seeing a robot doing essential deliveries within hospital building? Glasgow's £842 million new hospital welcomes first patients today. The 14-storey building has in it 1109 beds and its to staff around 10,000 workers. In addition, 26 robots will operate behind scenes.

Three separate Glasgow hospitals, Southern General, Victoria Infirmary and the Western Infirmary will be vacated, transferring about 1000 patients to the new infirmary.

According to the Dr David Stewart, Medical Director for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said : "This allows us to truly bring healthcare into the 21st Century. For most of my career I've been working out of buildings some of which have been more than 100 years old. "Frankly, although they were fine in their day, they were not suitable for the type of technologically based healthcare which we need to deliver now."
