Japanese Coming of Age celebration

The atmosphere was convivial as Tokyo's 'newest' women celebrates adulthood at a ceremony in Toshimaen. About 1.2 million women, who last year turned 20 years of age had 'Coming of Age' festival to welcome womanhood.
The new women can now take decisions without consent of their parents. These decisions may include that regarding marriage and smoking.

Culture, always interesting?
